BROWNLEE BEATON KREKE served as the Structural Consultant to assist in assessing the feasibility and cost of converting the historic heritage designated Union Railway Station to a casino complex. Project highlights included sensitive reclamation and restoration of strategic portions of the existing building and two major additions consistent with the heritage nature of the existing building. Structural rehabilitation included selective underpinning and restoration of deteriorated foundations. The project was propelled by an ambitious schedule to have it complete in time for Grey Cup 1995.
