The owner required large column-free spaces. The use of reinforced precast concrete allowed bay sizes of approximately 30' by 40'. The underground parking structure is a combination of cast-in-place reinforced concrete and precast concrete. Situated on the corner of two busy streets, the site required approximately 40' of shoring to permit excavation of the parkade. This project was a multi-storey office tower complex with its own unique challenges. It was delivered under a construction management and fast track format with accelerated tendering and construction of the structural components of the building. Construction management and fast tracking of structural systems has become a relatively common strategy with which we have developed considerable experience.
